General Announcements
Kay Dee welcomed new guests.
We need artists to display their work in Banner Bank, the Library, and the Visitors Center. Marjie Miller volunteered to show her work at the Visitors Center, and Dana Hayden will show his work at the Library. Please contact Kay Dee if you are interested in showing at Banner Bank.
Please contact Kay Dee with ideas for future presenters for General Meetings.
Barbara Davis-Pyles, who has written several children’s books, will be reading Nobody Likes Frogs: A Book of Toadally Fun Facts on August 3rd at the Blaine Library. We need a few volunteers to help the children make a frog hat. Georgia Donovan will contact the Northern Light for a press release for the event.
Bonnie Ventura has been working this summer teaching pottery at Birch Bay Parks and Recreation. They want to expand their classes into the arts and seek more teachers, which are paid positions. Please contact Bonnie for contact information.
The Wave Update
All the artists have been notified of their selection to the WAVE. A meeting will be held on July 14th at the Senior Community Center to go over all details.
Diane updated us on advertising for the WAVE. Many flyers have been passed out in the area, but more are available to pass out to any businesses you are in contact with. Please contact Diane if you would like a few. Poster bids are out right now. A banner will be ordered for placement on H Street. Contact will be made with Pete at the Senior Community Center to set up the digital banner sign to advertise the art studio tour at the Pavilion the week before the event.
Balloons and yard signs for the studio tours will be held for the artists at the center to pick up on the 23rd.
Wine donations are needed for our Wine Pull on Friday evening. Please let Diane know if you have any donations. We will have a wine bagging party the first or second week in August.
Silent Auction – We are still looking for more donations. If you want to donate an experience or an item, please contact Elizabeth. Please write a description of the total package/item value. We will list the beginning bid at 40% of the item’s worth.
If you would like to donate a piece of artwork to be in the silent auction, you can either donate the proceeds to BAC or we can give you a percentage that was agreed upon when it sells, and the rest would go to BAC.
Volunteers are needed to help with the silent auction tables – to answer any questions, be friendly, and keep an eye on the bidding. Kay Dee will furnish our Determination Letter (with our Tax ID number) to any businesses you approach for a donation to the auction. Please bring your auction items to the Blaine Library on August 4th from 3:00 – 5:00, where we will take them for safekeeping until the event.
Tickets are available online now for the Friday night event. The cost for members is $20.00, non-members $25.00
