Meeting Activities
Diane Butts called the meeting to order at 6:32 pm

Margaret Owens made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Christy Schroeder-Lloyd.
New Mission Statement was presented:
The Blaine Arts Council supports local artists, providing community connection and cultural events to help establish Blaine as a vibrant art destination. We believe that art is essential to our culture and vitality.
The Blaine Tourism Advisory Committee (BTAC) has awarded Blaine Arts Council a $5000 grant.
Saturday, April 22, the Unitarian Church in Blaine is hosting an Earth Day celebration. Artists are welcome to show/sell their art, especially art inspired by nature. Please contact Sieneka Stevenson if you are interested in participating sieneke.stevenson@gmail.com.
Blaine Senior Center is looking for artists to show/sell their work and artists who would like to teach a class (for pay).
Please send Kay Dee or Margaret your newsletter submissions by the 20th of the month.
Ruth Lauman is working on our website. Please go to the BlaineArtsCouncil Facebook, like the page, and follow. We now have an Instagram page, please follow us there also.
The Vault would like to show art at their restaurant on a rotating basis. Please contact Kay Dee for details.

Juried by Trish Harding from UFO Studios, Chris Davis, another possible juror from Gallery Syre in Bellingham.
This year the Gala and Wave are primarily to raise our profile and fundraise for BAC.
Sign-up sheets were passed around sign up for tasks to help with the Gala/Studio Tour. Please contact Diane Butts with ways you can contribute.
Gaye and Kay Dee are meeting with Brian Smith, the art teacher at Blaine High School. We are inviting art students to show at the Studio Tour at the Pavilion.
Sara Hansen: Is a Pianist, Flautist and Harpist. Sara plays the piano at Stafholt and teaches private lessons in Harp and piano. She is beginning to explore Watercolor.
Sara took us on a delightful musical flute journey beginning with Shakespeare.
