General Update
Margaret Owens – General Update of the Arts Fundraiser and Artist Show
Gallery Update
Faith Worthley – review of the Sign-up Forms for Artists to be on display in our Gallery; Reviewed the 1st Friday Art Walk; plans for the October 1st Friday event; she also reported that the Gallery will be transformed into a Holiday Gift Shop in the month of December 2024 ; max size of paintings is to be 15”; Several options for showing your work will be available. We are looking to fill the Gift Shop Gallery with all media and dimensions of artwork. Anyone interested should email Faith at gallerychair@blaineartscouncil.org. Please check out October and November’s newsletters for more info about fees and set up. There will be promotion of this event in Northern Light, the Chamber and social media. We’re hoping to have another sandwich board in front of Drayton Harbor Oyster advertising the Gallery sometime this month.
The Sculpture Garden makes its debut in October. There are driftwood panels created by Kim Morris, a bench to relax and contemplate created by Scott Smith, pottery crafted by Bonnie Ventura and Bayside Treasures has joined the arts council adding their metal sculptures to our beautiful garden. Come check it out.
October First Friday will be catered by L&L Bakery.
The muralists arrive later this month and will be painting the G St, plaza, the front of the gallery and other venues downtown. Come check out their amazing works.

Lilly Myers – oil painting and

Martin Johnson – photographer and stained-glass work; he came to the meeting with Jamie.
Nancy Bergman – presented her work
Rebecca – presented her work
Dianne Butts – Presented discussion on the upcoming Crafts for Kids event; she has supplies in place and it is free to the kids; the workshop for kids will be outside the gallery in the parking lot during Blaine’s downtown Harvest Fest. There will be a sign at the bottom of the driveway.
Promotion for this event has gone out to Northern Light, the Chamber and social media. We’ve also put a poster up in the elementary school.
Date is October 12, 2024 and it will be located on G Street and the intersection with Peace Portal Drive. Needs: 2 picnic tables l 1 tent; HELPERS. Margaret Owens will put some key information onto the Northern Light for pre-event advertising.
Kim Morris – Described her opening a small “gallery” in Birch Bay; it is a small structure where folks can pick up books / nick-knacks and drop new one.
Deb Freeman – Presented works for her nephew who is visually impaired but able to paint cars, trucks and motorcycles with excellent clarity.
Vaune Ainsworth – presented her work in collages.
Dana Hayden – presented his wood turned and burnt bowls with very intricate markings.
Lyn Rackley – presented her Children’s book published with the artwork she prepared.
Kay Dee Powell – presented her paintings and collages
Jessie Hughs – presented some of his pottery and sculptures
Sea to See Update
