Profile / Bio
I'm an artist who perpetually investigates the optical qualities of 2 & 3 dimensional surfaces. I exploit object shapes and textures, and present content that probes our existence. I attempt to discover the new. I have developed several techniques using common but overlooked materials and pigment solutions. I am driven by experimentation and have generated objects and imagery from combining such substances as various polyurethanes, epoxy with digital transparencies, and plaster and glue.
I attended Western Washington University and the University of Washington earning a BFA in sculpture. My earlier education in the sciences drew me in the direction of human anatomy. As a result, I was selected to attend graduate school in Medical Illustration. In addition, I became proficient in creating 3D digital images used in the video game industry. I am a published medical illustrator and was an asset designer for several successful video games and simulators.
I am committed to creating and making visual art that stimulates your optics, reflects an emotion, chases a thought, presents a belief, or identifies a social injustice.
