Heidi Grevstad has been making fiber art rugs since 2004. She is a certified teacher in this medium and is the owner of Birch Bay Rug Hooking. Heidi dyes the wool fabric that she uses in her rugs at her studio in Birch Bay, WA. She is the Director of the Western McGown Teacher’s Workshop which is a continuing education and certification program for art rug artists. Her work has been published in Rug Hooking Magazine Publications including Aine Humble’s The Sky’s the Limit. She is a two time finalist in the annual Celebrations rug art competition and was awarded a first place prize at the 2024 International Quilt and Fiber Art Festival in Everett, WA.
Heidi has taught traditional rug hooking workshops in the western US, British Columbia and Alberta. She retired from her career as an RN to pursue teaching traditional rug hooking, dyeing wool for herself and other fiber artists, and establish her small business, Birch Bay Rug Hooking.
